This session is not just for finance professionals—club professionals and those charged with financial oversight will benefit from a better understanding of the slippery slope of financial fraud in a club environment and how to identify potential risks in the control environment to provide appropriate safeguards.

Although fraud is rare, vigilance is required at all clubs to keep it that way.  This session will include practical suggestions to improve the control environment. These can be very simple to implement and don’t need to be complex or cumbersome to be effective.

Participants will:

·      Understand how to approach suspected fraud.

·      Identify control environment risks to both cash and non-cash accounts.

·      Improve the control environment to safeguard against fraud.

·      Clarify the role of the those charged with governance (Finance & Audit Committee).
