Within a private club, the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer position is vital for achieving and sustaining healthy and successful operations. Transitioning between executive leaders can be challenging and stressful for boards, teams, and even members due to the delicate balance necessary as the new person becomes acquainted with all things related to their new club. Preparing and planning for this transition period is essential; doing so can help shorten the learning curve and ease any discomfort.

Key points of discussion within the presentation include:

·      Pre-start date recommendations

·      Meetings with key constituencies

·      Setting year-one priorities

·      Organizing a Transition Committee

·      Transition Committee best practices

The intent of this education is to create a more positive onboarding experience for the new GM/COOs and also make it much more effective for the stakeholders, creating an amicable situation for everyone involved.

Participants in this education will also receive a sample First 100 Days checklist.
