| DENEHY Club Thinking Partners President Dan Denehy and Vice President Bob James come together for a point-counterpoint webcast on topics affecting the private club industry. Based on their popular Club Director column, they will explore three issues with varying points of view. Who will you agree with or what will they say? Topic 1: The Future of Committees In Private Clubs Committees play a vital role in the success of private clubs—or is it time for committees to be dissolved? Bob James sees the value in committees if they are aligned with the club’s mission, are well-organized and follow model committee guidelines regarding purpose, structure and roles. Dan, on the other hand, believes committees are useless and do not achieve the intended purpose or desired outcome. What is the future of committees and how can we plan accordingly? Topic 2: Work Life Balance: Is It doable? The evidence is clear: overworking isn’t good for employees. In fact, employees want work-life balance more than higher compensation but is there such a thing as a successful work/life balance in our industry? How do compensation and perks play a role? Dan and Bob will explore the topic with real-life examples from the private club industry on how to achieve a more happy and productive staff. Topic 3: Private Club Discipline: How To Get It Right! Private clubs are unfortunately dealing with more and more with staff misconduct and discipline issues. Bob and Dan will go over best practices for dealing with misconduct promptly, professionally, thoroughly and with sensitivity. A defined disciplinary process is vital to a club’s reputation and can prevent concerns over legal proceedings.   Presented by Dan Denehy, CCM, CHA – President, Denehy Club Thinking Partners Bob James, CCM, CCE, CHE – Vice President, Denehy Club Thinking Partners   Moderated by   John C.
